Texas Horse Park - Gates are Open!

On February 19, the City of Dallas dedicated the new art installation and "handed over the keys" at the Horse Park to two non-profit operators, Equest and River Ranch, while horses grazed and neighed in the distance.

A new public art installation greets visitors at the entrance to the facility. Equine Rhythm is the creation of Atlanta Sculptor Curtis Patterson who was selected for the commission from an international pool of artists.

The Trinity is excited to receive such a significant sculpture that is part of the Public Art Program. The Program provides opportunities for local and regional artists as well as visual artists from around the globe through commissions of works of public art. On hand at the dedication, were the Dallas City Council and representatives from the Public Art Commission.

Save the date for March 28! The community can see the sculpture and the new facility as well as experience the programming offered by Equest, and River Ranch. The Saturday celebration is from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There will be music, pony rides, trail rides, miniature horses, and other outdoor activities.

Winners Showcase Endless Beauty

For the past six years, Michael Hamtil, photo editor of the Dallas Morning News has been the lead judge for the Trinity River Photo Contest. He has viewed thousands of photographs depicting the major components of the Trinity River corridor working with other professional judges on the panel to select beautiful collections of photos.

Over the years, the photographers captured the building of bridges, trails, the Trinity River in all seasons, and snapshots of moments that can perhaps be encapsulated by viewing the Grand Prize winners.
